Monuments

I loved DC; I could seriously live there.  I enjoyed how history is such a part of everything, it is everywhere.  Above is the W.W. II momument.  Each wreath represents a state.

My favourite monument is for those who died in Vietnam.  Brilliantly designed, it banks down  into the earth; it is modern, grim, and yet beautiful.
So different from all the other momuments that are large and above ground and huge. This monument gives a different feeling...you are walking down into the ground, into a grave almost.
Black yet reflective; dark yet light.

Here's the Lincoln Memorial in contrast:  huge; airy, and magestic
