How Do we Teach our Children Well?

Max's first reconciliation: Today Max had his first reconciliation, which he must do before First Communion. It was difficult in one sense: how can a 7 year old have sins and confess them? Although I had some reservations about this, it was really well done and not so much about sin, but rather, about living a full examined life. Max has to be conscious of how he lives: How do I treat my siblings? How do I treat my parents? Am I a good friend?

I am all for teaching our children how to live an "examined" life, and not a frivolous life that I see so much of in our society. So, it's not about sin, its about hope and being a good person. It's about doing our best, and carrying on. I am all for that!!!

It is school spirit week, and students are to come to school with Bad Hair. Well, Bruno wasn't really impressed, but Boris was right in there in the spirit of things. (Boris desperately wants to go to school with the boys!!!)
