Opening Gifts on Christmas Eve

As per the Austrian tradition, we open gifts really late on Christmas eve, after Mass, and dinner. Santa comes, the boys hide in their bedroom, and then the presents appear. Here is Cory and Uncle Vic with the very popular Pizza Pie game....Aunt Sarina and Joshua.... didn't change the view
Crazy opening of the gifts...
Learning to play Chess...
A gift from Rudolph...

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Christmas Eve 2007

Merry Christmas from the Wiesinger boys relaxing on the couch!!!
The Children's Christmas Mass at St. Francis of Assisi, where the boys were Kings...Max and Bruno waiting for the children's play to begin. It was fantastic to have in the middle of the Mass, and the boys lasted through the entire service...bravo!!!
Bike riding at Stanley Park, Christmas Eve Day: the fantastic view of snow and mountains.

Drawings of the Christmas Nativity Scene by Max...
A letter to Santa....written by Max
Very interesting times: we celebrate St. Nicholas Day, the Birth of Christ, and Santa coming - it is hard to keep all the traditions and ideas straight and organized for the boys!!!!

A Christmas picture with Mommie...

The Christmas Tree goes up...

Here is our fabulously fake Christmas Tree that we pull out of storage every year. It looks like a real tree.... and it has been around for about 8 years now. It looks better in real life, and I love it more and more each year! Lots of photos on the tree depicting the boys at various ages and stages....

More Christmas Pagents....

Max and Bruno in dress rehearsal for the children's mass: they are two of the three kings, and both are very excited about being in the church play!!!!Bruno's fantastic preschool play. Bruno is one of the donkeys, or horse, that came to Bethlehem. He really wanted to be one of the kings, but his wish came true because he will be a king for the Children's Mass.
Bruno and the fantastic Mrs. Eng...our favourite teacher!!!
Bruno and Miss Campos, also our favourite teacher...

This is our last Christmas play at St. Francis of Assisi Preschool, which makes me very sad, indeed. However, lots more exciting Christmas plays in elementary school await the boys!

The Polar Express in 3D

Took the boys to see the movie The Polar Express in 3D. It was a little over the top for both Bruno and mom (I had to take the glasses off every 10 min, or else I was going to be sick!!). Think we should stick to regular movie experiences!!!

Bruno's art work: ready for Christmas cards!!!

A few weeks behind....

Two weeks ago, we had breakfast with Santa...

And it snowed, which is always a novelty....

Advent Begins the Christmas Season....

Christmas began in our house this weekend, much to the chagrin of Chris. We made an Advent Wreath...We decorated Max and Bruno's Christmas tree ( we had to bargain hard in order to get this to happen). Chris wants the official tree to go up the night before Christmas (Christmas Eve!!!) if you can believe it!!!
We took out the Christmas books...
And we decorated the boys' tree with superheros (stole the idea!!!! See below)
We went to visit the Christmas Trees at the Four Seasons ( I've never done that before!!) and the gingerbread houses at Sutton Place.

The boys went nuts over this tree, decorated with super heros!! They stole the idea and at home, with their tree, they began to attach all their transformers, superman, spiderman, power ranger toys - you name it - it's on their tree!
