Robertson Reunion

Our annual Robertson Family Reunion, where the clan gets together to celebrate. It is so much fun and it is great to see all the cousins, aunts, and uncles, and great people. Every year, we have haggis, and we toast to the haggis, with scotch, of course.

I don't like scotch, but I enjoyed the haggis!!!

Cousin Sande, cutting the haggis!

Thank you my great, huge, fun family! See you all at Christmas!

School Improvements

Our school grounds used to look like a prison. Ashpalt, no shade, and no playground structure. A gracious group of parents have painted, fundraised for the playground structure and added some planters. A little goes a long way!!!

Skytrain to the airport to pick up Dad...

We rode on the new skytrain route to the airport to pick up Dad coming back from Washington....it was a fun ride!

Visiting my friend Nathalie at the park by her home...great swing!

Boris goes to school.....my school!

Such high hopes for Boris...I thought I could take him to my class everyday and interact with the students. However, that dream ended when I realized how intense that would be. But, I am reconsidering having him at school the odd day - once he matures and calms down a bit. He is on his way!

Back to School to Grade 3 and Grade 1

First week of school went off without a hitch...great to be back and we are ready for more school!

The knapsacks make them look as if they are going to jump out of airplanes!!!

Naughty Boris

Boris is my shadow, and follows me everywhere, especially if Chris is away. I know he shouldn't be on the bed...it is wrong, and it is not a place for a dog. But...it is usually only for a few moments, and...he wants to see what I am doing. And, I Love It because I need my doggy to be next to me.

UBC Botanical Gardens in the trees

We climbed through the trees at UBC. After reading this great book, "The Last Child in the Woods", I am very committed to getting the boys outside and connecting with nature. We are such an urban family, that it is important to have the boys in the forest, running around the trees.

Six and Nearly Eight...are Great!

As the summer ends, and we contemplate school....I am shocked that I am telling people, "The boys are going into grade one and grade three..." How did that happen so so so fast? It is wonderful and sad at the same time. I feel we are on a trajectory that is going forward forward forward!!!!

Bionicles Rule

Unrelenting Bionicle fever...the boys generally do not leave the house without a bionicle in their hands....they are online finding out how to collect the old ones, they make movies about how to put them together (Bionicle reviews), and they discuss the ins and outs of the characters. They have over 50 bionicles and we have no room for them....but it has been a passion that has taken up many summer hours and lots of creative play, discussions, and building!

A romp at the Four Seasons while we changed the house...

New floors and new paint.....looks like a new home....

Thanks for the Jackson Pollock inspired painting, Bruno!
